I think veterans will applaud the accuracy, emotion and depth of director Oliver Stone's "Born on the Fourth of July".

    I think the American public will respond with enthusiasm and support for its message.

    I think the military and (Bush) Administration will grit their teeth; they wanted Vietnam, the reality of its mistakes, betrayals and hideousness, to be forgotten in the American mind.

    Oliver Stone has forever erased any possibility of that.
