Should the WW2 Navy Armed Guard Be Re-Established?


TOPIC:
Piracy on the high seas has become a growing violent threat to international commerce and communication, just as enemy attacks imperiled hundreds of vessels during WW2. The United States Naval Armed Guard was implemented to protect and defend against aggression. Hundreds of vessels and thousands of lives were preserved due to the heroism and tireless watchfulness of the Navy Armed Guard.




QUESTION 1: Should the Navy Armed Guard used in WW2 to protect Merchant vessels be re-established to defend against pirates?
